Interview With The Creators Of Battle Bunny
Hello, my name is Colby Sharp – and I’m going to share with you an interview that I attempted to do with Jon Scieszka and Mac Barnett.
The creators of Battle Bunny didn’t cooperate. They even changed my questions, but thankfully I was able to convince some of my third graders to doodle on some of their responses. I think their art saved the interview.
During the first part of the interview I interview Jon. In the second part I chat with Mac.
I recommend reading the interview from a computer. It might be hard to read some of the responses and appreciate some of the art on your phone.
Happy reading!
Interview with Jon:
In all seriousness, I’d like to thank Jon and Mac for playing along with my silly interview, and for my third graders for giving the interview the “Battle Bunny” treatment. Battle Bunny is extremely popular in my classroom. You should check it out.
Delightful! Looks like all involved had a blast.
Hilarious!
They are so funny!
Our bedtime story last night, great follow up
It’s nice to see Mr. Sharp finally pull together some excellent interview questions.
My kickball dream team draft order:
1. Colby (He’s a runner and teaches 4th grade. Innate skill set.)
2. Jon Scieszka (Wily veteran with built-in excuse for team to get cool caps.)
3. Mac Barnett (Some things never change.)
Is the next national debate Team Birthday Bunny vs. Team Battle Bunny?
Just heard about this book (and the hard-fought battles) yesterday. Love what you and the kids did to win the war, Colby! Great story!
I love laughing first thing in the morning. Thanks Colby, Jon, and Mac! I just received a copy of Battle Bunny yesterday, and now have this jaunty interview to add to my presentation of it to my students. They will eat this up!
This. Is. Awesome. I laughed out loud in the teacher’s lounge and everyone looked at me like i was crazy. Hahahaha!
This is absolutely fantastic!! Thanks for sharing!
This was probably THE best interview I’ve EVER read! PERFECT in relation to the book. It’s GREAT, btw 🙂 Thanks, guys! 😀 LOL
Those two just keep getting better and better with each interview. This is priceless! And so is Battle Bunny! Love that warped humor!
This is brilliant! Tell your class they are inspired!

It’s so hard to type while rolling around on the floor laughing…
I love how they made a kids book into a fun adventure for kids instead of a boring, plain-colorful childrens book. I also like how you can order your own plain copy and make up the story yourself. the illistrations in this book are phenomenal. I’ve never laughed so hard until i read this book. great job.
HI-LAR-I-OUS. Gotta love it when PB authors conspire.
Best interview ever. Thank you for this.
