Nerd Camp Junior 1.0

Last year Nerdy Book Club members threw the first annual Nerd Camp. Nerd Camp followed the Ed Camp unconference model. We just added a literacy twist. This year we are adding Nerd Camp Junior. Nerd Camp Junior is an opportunity for kids to spend an evening with 9 award winning authors and illustrators learning about crafting stories.

Brad Wilson stopped by my classroom and Suzanne Gibbs’s classroom a few weeks ago and filmed some of our readers talking about: books, reading, and Nerd Camp Junior. He has created an amazing video for Nerd Camp Junior.

We are very excited to be able to provide each student that attends Nerd Camp Junior with: a notebooks, a pencil, a book by one of our authors, and a pizza dinner.

Nerd Camp

While I have you all here I might as share a little bit about Nerd Camp for adults. This year’s Nerd Camp will be a half day July 7th and a full day July 8th. The first day will feature scheduled sessions. Suzanne Gibbs has put together an amazing lineup for day one.
