John Schu

Shana Corey
Shana Corey 1

Shana Corey is an executive editor at Random House. She is also the author of several “girl-power” picture books including: Here Come the Girl Scouts! My fourth graders call Ms. Corey their favorite editor. I tell them that they don’t know any other editors. They inform me that they don’t need to know any more editors because they already know the BEST editor.

Dan Santat

I own lots of copies of Dan Santat’s graphic novel Sidekicks. They are all tattered and torn. Tattered and torn means that the book is being read –  a lot. My fourth graders are always asking if me if Mr. Santat is going to write a sequel to Sidekicks. My response every single time: I hope so.

Donalyn Miller

Donalyn Babymouse

Donalyn Miller is a teacher in Bedford, Texas.  She wrote one of the most important books in the history of teaching reading (in Colby Sharp’s opinion): The Book Whisperer. She helps facilitate/run Nerdy Book Club, #titletalk, and #bookaday.

Eric Wight

Author/Illustrator Eric Wight is the man behind the Frankie Pickle series. He is also the illustrator to the Tops League Series.

Raina Telgemeier

Raina Telgemeier is the author of the most popular graphic novel in the history of my fourth grade classroom: Smile. My fourth graders are completely obsessed finding out everything they can about her forthcoming book Drama.

Tom Angleberger

Tom Angleberger is the author of books that capture the hearts middle grader readers. From The Strange Case of Origami Yoda to Fake Mustache and everything in between, Mr. Angleberger has taken kid lit by strorm.

Jarrett Krosoczka

Jarrett Krosoczka is the mastermind behind the Lunch Lady graphic novel series and some pretty stellar picture books.

Katie Davis

Katie Davis

Katie Davis does it all. In addition to being an author and illustrator, she is also a consultant and podcast host. If everyone had Katie’s LOVE for kid lit the world would be a better place.
